Zerobeat Inc. (“Zerobeat,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides point-of-sale (POS), payment processing, and related software and services (the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information.

This Policy applies to:

  • Merchants using Zerobeat
  • Employees or agents of merchants
  • Customers (“Guests”) interacting with merchants through Zerobeat
  • Visitors to Zerobeat websites and applications

Role of Zerobeat

Zerobeat acts in different roles depending on the context:

  • Service Provider / Processor: When processing transactions on behalf of merchants
  • Controller: When managing our own website, accounts, and operations

Merchants are responsible for their own privacy practices.

Information We Collect

a. Account Information

  • Name, email, phone number
  • Login credentials
  • Business information

b. Transaction Data

  • Payment details (processed via third-party providers)
  • Order and purchase information
  • Transaction timestamps and amounts

c. SMS Receipt Data

  • Phone numbers voluntarily provided by Guests at the point of sale to receive a one-time transactional receipt
  • Opt-in timestamp and the consent language displayed at the time of collection
  • Delivery status and opt-out (STOP) records for the message sent

Phone numbers collected through the Text Receipt flow are used solely to deliver the requested transactional receipt and to honor opt-out requests. Zerobeat does not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for any purpose unrelated to message delivery. See our SMS program details for the full opt-in flow.

d. Device and Usage Data

  • IP address and browser type
  • Device identifiers
  • Usage activity and logs

e. Location Data

We may collect general location data based on device or network information.

f. Third-Party Data

We may receive data from payment processors, identity verification providers, and analytics partners.

How We Use Information

  • Provide and operate the Services

  • Deliver one-time transactional SMS receipts when a Guest opts in at the point of sale

Phone numbers submitted for SMS receipts are used only to send the requested transactional receipt and to maintain opt-in and opt-out records. They are not used for marketing.

Sharing of Information

We may share information with:

  • Merchants: To complete transactions
  • Service Providers: Hosting, payments, analytics
  • Legal Authorities: When required by law
  • Business Transfers: In mergers or acquisitions

We do not sell personal information for monetary compensation.

Zerobeat does not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for any purpose unrelated to message delivery. Phone numbers collected for texted receipts are shared only with the telecom provider delivering the message (for example, our SMS service provider) strictly for the purpose of sending the receipt the Guest requested.

SMS Receipts and Messaging

Zerobeat offers an optional texted-receipt feature that lets Guests receive a receipt by SMS after completing a purchase.

  • Opt-in:Opt-in is collected at the point of sale. A Guest taps “Text Receipt” on the customer-facing device and voluntarily enters a phone number. Submission of the phone number, together with the displayed consent language, constitutes consent to receive a one-time transactional message.
  • Purpose: Messages are transactional and relate only to the completed purchase. Zerobeat does not send marketing, promotional, or recurring messages through this program.
  • Frequency: One message per transaction.
  • Carrier disclosure: Message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt-out: Recipients may reply STOP at any time to opt out of future messages. Reply HELP for help, or contact support@zerobeat.io.
  • No sharing: Zerobeat does not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for any purpose unrelated to message delivery. Numbers are shared only with our telecom/SMS provider to deliver the requested receipt.

Cookies, Tracking Technologies, and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to operate the site, measure aggregate usage, and improve the experience.

a. Consent management

We use Cookiebot as our consent management platform. The first time you visit our website, you will see a banner that lets you accept, reject, or customize which categories of cookies are set. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clicking the small Cookiebot icon on the site, or by clearing cookies for our domain in your browser. No analytics or marketing cookies are set until you provide consent.

b. Cookie categories we use

  • Necessary: Required to remember your consent preferences and to operate core site functionality. Set by Cookiebot. These cannot be disabled.
  • Statistics / Analytics: Set only if you accept. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate visitor behavior (pages viewed, session duration, referrers, devices, country-level location). Typical cookies: _ga, _ga_*.
  • Marketing: We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies.

c. Analytics providers

Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC). Used to understand how visitors use our site in aggregate. Loaded only after you accept analytics cookies. Where Google Consent Mode v2 is enabled, declining analytics cookies still permits Google to receive anonymous, cookieless signals (no client ID, no user ID, no personal data) used for aggregate modeling. We do not use Google Analytics for ad personalization or remarketing.

Vercel Analytics (Vercel Inc.). We use Vercel Analytics for basic page-view counts. Vercel Analytics is cookieless by design and does not collect personal data, so it operates without requiring your consent.

d. International data transfers

Our analytics providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where applicable, transfers are protected by the appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) under their respective privacy policies.

e. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Our consent banner is the primary mechanism for managing your preferences. We respect Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable law requires us to.

The SMS receipts program does not use cookies or tracking pixels.

Data Retention

We retain information as long as necessary to provide Services and comply with legal obligations. Phone numbers submitted for SMS receipts are retained only as long as necessary to deliver the receipt, honor opt-out requests, and meet legal obligations.

Security

We implement reasonable safeguards, but no system is completely secure.

Your Rights

You may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data depending on applicable law.

Children

Our Services are not intended for children under 13.

We may update this Policy. Continued use means acceptance of updates.
